UGGG!! Who is like me and has the HARDEST time organizing ANYTHING! I struggle with this daily, Im pretty sure I would benefit from a professional organizer! I find that there are just too many papers, post-it notes, (for me) camera equipement, canvas prints, sample albums, receipts, etc… I HATE IT!
I know many people think “that’s for little girls” when they hear pink, but I think it’s a color that has a bad reputation. Pink, when done right, can brighten up a room just as well as yellow can.
Your bed is the focal point of your room.. however there are MANY different ways to showcase that focal point. Even now I am still searching and trying to decide what we should go with next for our bedroom, guest room, kids room, all that jazz! I am conflicted. Do I go with a dramatic tall bedframe, a simple platform bed with no frame and make the focus a painting or photograph, do I keep what I already have? Do we get something with a footboard, since they help keep the sheets on the bed (an ongoing problem for us! ~ read this latest Apartment Therapy post for some advice and answers) I also am drawn to the wrought iron vintage frames (for a kids room mainly) but does it look too “girly” what if we one day have a boy and not a girl! What if the style bedframe we like doesnt go with the style of our home? So many options, styles, decisions to make! Here are some of my favorites that I have come across that I am constantly drawn to.

Oh happy day! My M. comes back from Ohio today… which is where he grew up. He sadly had to return home mid-week to attend his grandfathers funeral. Every summer we take a trip out to OH to visit the fam. and enjoy the country air… but this time he had to brave the drive alone during the hail storm, snow and some icy highways to head home late wednesday night for the funeral the next day. Well, now he is heading on home to me and mr. Wickett… and while this post does not have ANYTHING to do with design or reno… this blog is about home and also life, and like the famous Billy Joel once wrote
It’s link lovin’ time my friends!!!! OH, and it’s also FRIDAY! yah!!!

In keeping with our spring colors, I was drawn to yellow this past week while looking for gardening ideas. I might be a bit biased toward yellow since I have two rooms in my home painted with different shades of yellow. It just gives such a warm feeling when I walk into the room. You’ll see some photos from a DIY post in the near future soon, but for now, here are some rooms I found for you to view along with me. Read More »
Of all the furniture pieces related to dining rooms, I particularly enjoy looking at dining tables. I’ve thought about why over the years, and all I can really say is eating as a family has been instilled in me since childhood. No matter how busy our lives were, our family would find time to sit down and eat together for dinner. Since the dining table is such an important piece of furniture in my home, I’d like to invite you to share dinner over these dining tables I’ve found. Read More »
Today’s before & after is one of my most favorite pieces in my home. I actually got this piece FOR FREE from this super sweet guy who was trying to empty out his grandpa’s house before the back took it. I answered his craigslist ad for a different piece and when I got there, I was impressed… he said I could look around and saw this UGLY green cabinet that was all grossed out sitting in his grandpa’s basement for about 30 years. He said he was going to just chuck it but if I could get it home it was mine! A few days later he and I pushed and pulled this piece out from the basement and attempted to put it in a SUV I borrowed from a friend.. to my disappointment it didnt fit! So a few day later another friend gladly helped us put it into his much larger truck and off we went! We then put the cabinet in out parking spot of the garage. Read More »
