When we think about painting our homes, most of us look to the neutral colors such as tan, off-white or white. When we think color we tend to look at pastels or white. We don’t often hear people choose gray as an interior color inside their home. You might think of industrial spaces when thinking of gray, but it’s a nice color to try to incorporate into the home. The other week I was reading Rita’s entry on giving up luxury when purchasing a new home… if you havent seen the entry, check it out Here . As a realtor I come across questions like this from my clients all the time.
First let me touch upon the subject of the current prices of homes. Unfortunately most homeowners trying to sell their homes in this market don’t realize just how much prices have actually fallen statistically. My first piece of advice when working with a selling client is if you don’t have to sell, don’t. On the other hand, I tell them what they might not make on the selling end they can make up on the buying end, especially if they are upgrading. The higher the price of the house the more it has fallen in this current market.
Everyone meet Peter, Peter met everyone Since I am not going to pretend that I am a total real estate guru or anything I decided to ask an old GRADE SCHOOL classmate and also a realtor at Marron & Gildea, located in Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ, if he would mind weighing in every few weeks on different topics or questions that you might have or that he thinks are important for people to know about when thinking about or in the process of purchasing or selling a home.

Hi All. Sooo these past 2 weeks have been a bit crazy..BUT for all of you who might not know it.. but Passover was just here… In my crazy-jewish family this is THE holiday to celebrate! This year, Mr. M. and I are HOSTING the extravaganza! I was a little worried about 25 people (including us) attempting this sit down dinner in our 1300sq ft. apt.. BUT us Weinberg’s have made it work in much smaller a location! For any of you who do not celebrate Passover and would like to know more about it.. here is the wiki entry.. which might help!
With Earth Day just passing last week, it inspired me to show you my design board for an eco-friendly kids bedroom. Why kids bedroom? Right now, lil man’s crib is in our bedroom so I’m in the process of collecting ideas to create a room for him since his first birthday is coming up soon. I know, he won’t really understand the concept, but we thought his first birthday party would be the best time to introduce a room to him.
Spring is here! Now that we’re in April all the gardeners are prepared for horticulture warfare. It is a joyous and overwhelming time. So, where do we begin?
Did you know today is Earth Day? If not, mark your calendars!
Stacey tries to be as green as possible and I think it’s very important to give back to the community, especially when it’s about helping the environment. So, we’re dedicating this post to Earth Day.
I have several favorite colors… I simply can’t choose just one – there are too many to choose from. I love blue and yellow – especially in the home – but another color I enjoy is brown. Brown? Yes, brown. We decided to bring you brown this week because one of our wonderful twitter followers (remodeleze) requested we share brown with you. And of course, we love it when we receive suggestions/ideas from our readers.
