Where has the time gone? It’s July 4th this weekend. That means half the year is already over. In honor of our Independence Day, we’re dedicating this week’s Living with Color post to the good ol’ red, white and blue. Happy Independence Day everyone!
I’m a big fan of bay windows. I’ve never had them in any of my homes, but I do really enjoy looking at them, so here are some windows this week I decided to share with you.
Hi Everyone.. sorry for the inactivity yesterday.. It was a long weekend of weddings for M. and I.. I needed a day off from the world to just chillax and stress about our house! Anyways, today’s tip of the day is…
While I still need to get you the demo photos of the master bathroom but I do have a before and an AMAZING (j/k!) drawing to show you of the new layout. See we had every intention of gutting and re-doing the MBR in a few years.. but never anticipated adding it to the immediate MUST DO list that we had originally put together… however like most things in life, and esp. when it comes to gutting and renovating a home unexpected things come up all the time!
My cousin Michael told me last minute that he would be coming up for 2 days to help power demo the house with M. and his dad.. with that being said, there was no time to find a dumpster company who was willing to bring the dumpster to our new place within a 24hr period.
So these past 12 days have been crazy! We closed on the house and I was almost regretting our decision due to the amount of work in the yard.. and then our lovely families came to help us demo the S*** out of the inside.
Today’s Tip Tuesday is one that M. and I just did for ourselves.. which is why I am mentioning it. It is also an important home-owners/renovation rookie advice tip.. Come on in and check out todays tip of the day!

Oddly, I’ve never actually heard the term, but I knew it by a different name – a secondary suite. In searching for inspiration to share with you, it became apparent it would be difficult to narrow it down since a mother in-law suite can be different things for different people. Many have a separate entrance, bathroom, kitchen and living room. This week’s inspiration board is a little different as it was difficult to find something that didn’t just look like a loft or a regular living room space, and rather than have a board displaying different furniture, we’re giving you a sample blueprint and some photos similar to our “likes” posts.
