Rita-likes-wine-glass-charms

I’m not a wine drinker. Actually, I don’t drink at all, but my hubs does and I love home decor and I’m a big fan of people writing their names onto their plastic cups when we have parties. But, you can’t do that with your wine glasses, so I searched around for some wine glass charms and found a slew of them on Etsy.

The count down to Thanksgiving truly begins today with only three days to go. It’s amazing how quickly the weeks have gone by this year. I’m sure everyone has all their thanksgiving gear at home already (minus some groceries), but I wanted to share some dinnerware today for our inspiration design board. Here are just some items I’ve seen and would love to have at home if I had an excuse to buy it all.

Some of the items caught my eyes from shopping around at the stores and others (like the deep fryer) are based on recommendations from friends and  online reviews. Enjoy!

winter-garden-prepare-lawn-for-winter

Winter is rolling in and if you live in the tri-state area, you’ve already seen it in full force when it snowed a few weeks ago. Although the weather is getting cold, it doesn’t mean your yard requires less attention. In fact, it’s during the winter months that your landscaping requires more care. Without the proper winter preparations, your garden and yard might not grow back to it’s full glory when Spring comes. Read More »

Rita-likes-cranberry-recipes

Thanksgiving is probably my favorite holiday and it’s next week. I cannot believe how quickly this year has gone by. What I love about Thanksgiving is the purpose of it… everyone gathering together to give thanks and celebrate life. The only presents are the presence of each other and food. I love food. Every Thanksgiving my family gather for a large family dinner. We’ve often times had friends join us for the festivities because I believe the more the merrier. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I decided to pick out cranberry as recipes I like week. Here are some things I found to share with you. Read More »

It’s Tuesday and you know we love giving you Tips. This week, we give you TWO tips since we missed last week. And since it’s Thanksgiving next week, here are two tips related to Thanksgiving:

  1. Utilize charms for your wine glasses during Thanksgiving Dinner to identify who’s glass is who’s – there are loads on Etsy (search for wine glass charms). Or if you’re feeling creative, make them yourself – all you need is colored paper, marker, ribbon, hole puncher and scissors to cut shapes
  2. Start working on your Thanksgiving menu now by use a file folder to hold recipes you’re thinking of using. When you’re ready to go grocery shopping, go through your recipes to decide which ones you want to use

Happy Tuesday!

living-with-color-using-crayons-to-paint-crayola

I was reminiscing about childhood and crayons this week while coloring with my lil man Reilly. I vividly remembered coloring with my crayons as a child. Now I use colored pencils whenever I’m working on a design sketch while using Photoshop or Illustrator when working on the computer. But, I’ll always remember the fun I had with crayons and the happiness they brought. It occurred to me that as adults, we’ve forgotten about this simple love we had with crayons as children so this week’s Living With Color is about adapting crayon colors into our lives beyond what we do with our children.
