After last week’s inspiration design board, one of the photos that stuck in my mind was the sailboat bed. I’ve been thinking about how fun it would be to have a themed room for my lil man Reilly. My hubs, Eric, thinks I’m nuts and he’s probably right because financially it doesn’t really make much sense for us right now. So, instead of re-doing lil man’s room, I decided to dream about it. In the spirit of Independence Day, I thought I’d post a few kids rooms that done the Red, White & Blue. Enjoy!
I’m not much of a wallpaper person. I cringed when I was looking at homes 12 years ago when almost every house we saw had the ancient 50s wallpaper in every room of the house. We had wallpaper in the kitchen of the house we ultimately bought and couldn’t wait to rip it all off. When we did, we found TWO more layers below the first! Took us hours to get it all off (thank goodness for DIFF). When a friend of mine suggested looking into wallpaper for our playroom, I hesitated at first, but decided to check things out just to see what’s out there. Read More »
Another week has gone by quickly which means another week of pregnancy has gone by for me. Yay! I’m counting the days…. weeks… months. As the days dwindle by, I’m left still thinking about how to outfit our playroom to accommodate a new lil one without cramping the play area for Reilly. He is very active and loves to use every single space available to him. Read More »

It’s been a few months since my last post here at TLH. Aside from writing at my own blog & working on my business, I’ve been busy with baby things preparing for the arrival of baby #2 and getting Reilly ready for the a sibling. But, Stacey asked me to stop on by occasionally, so here I am (that and I miss writing here too). ^_^
To kick off my return to This Lovely Home, I’ve decided to share an inspiration design board. I know we’ve done a board on chevron patterns before (which you can check out here), but I wanted to share this specifically related to the baby nursery since I’m back in the nursery mode these days.
Ever since my son, Reilly, was born, I’ve really grown to like the color orange. It started simply because he was born in the Year of the Tiger on our Chinese Zodiac and grew from there. I love the vibrance of the color and how happy it can make me feel when I see it. It’s really amazing what color can do. Read More »
I’ve not been feeling well the last month… getting sick, well, then sick again, but searching the internet for inspiration always helps brighten the day. While I was looking for something to share on this week’s inspiration design board, I found this living room from Tobi Fairley Interior Design. The set up and the colors are refreshing and lead me to the upcoming season – Spring! Read More »
Did you watch the Super Bowl last night like the rest of the U.S.? What a game! Down the last 57 seconds. What a nail biter! In honor of the Giants winning Super Bowl 46, I’m sharing with you a blue inspiration board of items I found on the net… Or saw on a catalog recently. Read More »
Last Monday started the Lunar New Year celebrations. Due to the craziness of last week, we didn’t get to post anything special for the occasion. And since the New Year is celebrated for 15-30 days depending the culture, today we decided to dedicate our inspiration design board to a dining room with some red & gold accents. After all, all it takes to brighten up a room can be colored accents. Read More »
