Say Hello to Anne Miller ~ florist extraordinaire!

04.18.2011

Say hello to Anne Miller!   Today I want to introduce you to a wonderful friend and AMAZING local florist, who is the retail and event director at The Little Flower Shoppe in Ridgewood NJ.  She has tons of AMAZING experience working in the floral industry from head floral designer at New York’s landmark Pierre Hotel and the St. Regis to being featured in magazines such as Brides, InStyle, Town and Country and Travel and Leisure. Most recently, under her direction the shop was noted as the Best Florist in Bergen County by Bergen Health and Life. She also owned Willow Fine Flowers and Design in Philly and much much more!

So you are thinking.. ok… why is this lady important to This Lovely Home? Well, I asked Anne if she would be up for the challenge of being our bi-monthly all-things floral/garden expert! I feel SO lucky and honored that she said YES, she would LOVE to be part of the team and to bring awareness and the beauty of floral to all our readers and also get to see some of her amazing work that she does for her local New Jersey clients!

When I first asked Anne to write about some topics that Rita and I were curious about she wrote me back with this very Anne response.

“Stacey, I will be more fluid with floriculture I am a florist with my expertise in floriculture.. Horticulture is definitely an interest for me and will have some great elementary advise for beginning gardeners.  I give a perspective that might be of interest to your readers because I am a florist interested primarily in beauty.

I want to surround myself with plants and floral materials because I find them beautiful. I sincerely believe that life is enhanced because I work with nature. However I may be the antithesis of a gardener in that I cut branch material and forage for mosses and exquisite snowdrops and all the precious moments that each season is full of so that I can create exquisite arrangements and designs for people to enjoy in a different way then just enjoying them in a garden. It’s not say that I don’t work with gardens and creating work by planting outside.. But when I do, I like to look at things in a unique way.”

Anne I am SO excited that you are going to be part of This Lovely Home and bring your knowledge to our readers! LOVE YOU! XO~ S

BTW, If you have any gardening or floral questions for Anne.. please dont hesitate to email me at stacey@thislovelyhome.com or leave a comment!
