I was reminiscing about childhood and crayons this week while coloring with my lil man Reilly. I vividly remembered coloring with my crayons as a child. Now I use colored pencils whenever I’m working on a design sketch while using Photoshop or Illustrator when working on the computer. But, I’ll always remember the fun I had with crayons and the happiness they brought. It occurred to me that as adults, we’ve forgotten about this simple love we had with crayons as children so this week’s Living With Color is about adapting crayon colors into our lives beyond what we do with our children.

Crayola is one of a brand everyone knows for their wonderful crayons so I went to their website to look at their colors. They currently have 120 colors listed on their website color chart. While I know there are a lot more colors out there now with Photoshop and other computer software I think 120 colors is pretty extensive for a children’s crayon box. That’s 120 color options we can utilize from our childhood.

Then I thought I could take each of those colors and make them Hex Codes or Pantone codes for you, but after a little stumbling around on the internet I found a great resource that’s already done it, so I didn’t have to reinvent the wheel.

Now you can take Crayola’s wonderful colors…pick the ones that remind you of your childhood and paint them onto your walls or wood furniture. Thanks to Color Schemer for their chart of color equivalents:
